US Indicts 15 Mexican Drug Cartel Leaders

The U.S. has announced action against Mexican criminal organization Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG). The group is involved in a wide variety of crimes, including drug trafficking, torture and murder. U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Tuesday the Department of Justice has indicted 15 of CJNG’s top leaders, financiers, drug sources, transporters and distributors. VOA’s Zlatica Hoke reports the indictments are part of a wider U.S. government effort.
